Let go of control.
Life has been known to hand our asses to us in various situations and because of this, people grab onto control like they’re fighting a fish trying to get off the hook, but here’s the thing, sometimes that fish gets away, so do you stop? No, you throw your line back in. However fish have been known to break rods, and reels, because of the fight so do you really want to control something so hard that it breaks you?
This is another event I could gold medal in, control. Past trauma’s in my life have made me hold onto control like my life depended on it, but my life didn’t depend on it. Go with the flow isn’t just saying, because someone wants to see you fail, whatever is going to happen in your life is going to happen whether you like it or not, good or bad. Do we always know what it is? No, but when we spend so much time controlling the situation, it’s possible the bad pushes the good away.
What you focus on is what you’re going to bring into your life, because life is letting you call the shots, so if you think you’re going to get hurt or rejected, so you don’t even try, you’re still going to feel hurt and in the long term you might convince yourself that you’ve been rejected. Balance. It’s all about balance.
None of us want the bad things, but bad things can also be a lesson that we need to learn. It seems unfair, I know, but every life is different and whatever path we take, it’s a path we have to own, good or bad, or both. So relinquish control. Obviously there are things in life that require us to have a bit of control over, and those things are the obvious things, but let go of the fear and the doubt that makes you control everything. Let go of the preconceived notions that you, or maybe even someone you trust, or trusted, has planted in your head.
Go be your authentic self. Love yourself and give yourself the chance to go with the flow. Like yesterday, stay in the present, it makes going with the flow easier to learn and accept. Give it a try and see what happens, but remember, always listen to your spidey senses, if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. Not everything in life is a go with the flow situation. This post is just about letting go of the leash you have yourself on and showing yourself what you’re made of, if you allow yourself the opportunity to do so.
